Projectiondesign introduced three new projectors at InfoComm 08, including one that projects images in high-resolution 3D.

The F10 AS3D projects in active stereo 3D using a single chip, a feat normally achieved with two, says the company. The portable active 3D stereoscopic projector is designed for markets such as scientific, visualization, simulation, and entertainment environments in applications that have not previously been able to achieve this level of performance.

A 120 Hz refresh rate from dual head inputs on DVI or VGA enables flicker-free imaging with 60 Hz sequential imaging. According to a Projectiondesign representative, the F10 AS3D achieves the 3D effect by quickly alternating the left and right outputs. Other features include 1400x1050 resolution, compatibility with 1080p inputs, and compatibility with IR transmitted and White Light (DLP Link) LCD 3D shutter glasses.

Also at InfoComm were the F10 and F30 WUXGA single-chip DLP projectors, the F80 WUXGA 3-chip DLP projector, and the F80 1080 3-chip HD DLP professional projector. The F80 WUXGA is the first 3-chip WUXGA projector, according to the company. It produces a 1920x1200 resolution and 2.3 million pixels, and it allows the user to adjust the color gamut and calibration through Advanced Color Optical Processing (ACOP).
