Royal LineageThe handcrafted Ming Dynasty porcelain sink draws from a variety of sources from China's Ming period, lasting from circa 1368 to 1644. The bowl features a traditional blue-and-white pattern of scrolling vines, flowers, Chinese dragons, and birds inspired by ancient Ming patterns, and its carved rim is reminiscent of the battlements of the Great Wall of China, also built during the Ming Dynasty. The scalloped base is a common accent found in other porcelainware of the period.
Intended for vessel-mounting, the Ming Dynasty sink stands 6 inches high and is 17 inches in diameter. Decorative covers are available to dress up the sink drain. Linkasink. 866.395.8377. www.linkasink.com
Danish DesignAlthough Lone Bager's custom wood countertops can be used for many surfacing applications, such as home offices, laundry rooms, and dining rooms, most clients choose them for kitchen island worktops as an accent to other countertop materials. The clean, simple lines and square edges of the staved wood surfaces appeal to those with a contemporary bent, but Bager's design team is capable of producing nearly any style or shape.

Constructed by Danish-American craftsmen in traditional tongue-and-groove joinery, the wood worktops come in three staved variations: continuous, random jointed with a single continuous front stave, and random-jointed staves.
