The XDR-955 handheld digital wireless microphone from X2 Digital Wireless Systems uses digital conversion and proprietary dual digital RF transmission technology to produce high-quality sound. The system only recognizes correct digital data and disregards all other sources, reducing the amount of interference from cell phones, wireless networks, and other RF technology, the company says. The XDR-955 is also 2009 compliant, so it's free from DTV and FCC licensing concerns. It has a working range of 300 feet under normal conditions and reproduces a frequency response of 10 Hz to 20,000 Hz, +/- 0.5 dB.
Price: Starts at $999.

Media Vision USA introduces a new line of push-to-talk microphones for the rental and staging markets. The HCS-3630 series microphones have a detachable gooseneck. The series also comes with the MVUSA-CASE10 carrying case, which fits one main unit and 10 microphones with cables, an extension cable, and goosenecks; it can be customized to carry up to 20 microphones. According the company, this type of product is popular among hotels and convention centers because the push-to-talk mics can be daisy chained, are easy to set up and expand, and require less cabling.
